Cheer Competes in Regionals

The Prattville High School Lions cheerleading team is set to compete in the 2026 AHSAA Central-South Regional Cheerleading Competition on Monday, September 28, 2026. Over 120 cheer teams will participate, aiming to secure a spot in the AHSAA state competition. Coach Sjohna Hughes leads the team as they prepare for this significant event in their cheerleading calendar.

Seniors Kenley Kramer and Savannah Lobenstein are particularly excited about this competition, marking a pivotal moment in their final year. Kenley expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "One last competition season and we are ready! As a team, we have all come so far in gaining more skills and perfecting the skills we have." She acknowledged the new challenges ahead, as the team will compete in a different division this year, but emphasized their commitment to giving their best effort. Savannah echoed this sentiment, highlighting the thrill of performing in front of a crowd and the hard work that goes into their routines. "Knowing it's my last season encourages me to put my all on the mat and to soak up all the 'lasts' with my team," she said.

The competition will take place at 17 Springs in Millbrook, AL. Tickets for the event are available on GoFan.
