Flag Football Beats Oak Mountain

The Prattville High School Varsity Flag Football team secured a 20-13 victory over Oak Mountain at home on Tuesday night, improving their season record to 10-5. Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity team set the tone with a commanding 32-0 win. Coach Michael Battle praised his team's performance, "It was a good win tonight and a much-needed one. We’ve come up short by one touchdown twice this year in this new region, so it was great to see our girls respond. They focused in a little more this week and really paid attention to the details. I’m proud of how they competed and the way they stayed locked in. Now we need to take this momentum on the road next week against Tuscaloosa County."

Key contributions came from Averie Patterson, who returned a punt for a touchdown, demonstrating her playmaking ability. London Williams and Kyrstin Benson also made significant impacts, each catching touchdown passes to help secure the win. Williams, a sophomore, reflected on the game atmosphere, stating, "It was very exciting seeing more people than we usually do in the stands. After the win, the energy was awesome, everyone was hype, and it felt amazing to win and gain confidence. We are looking forward to taking that confidence into future games." The Lions will look to carry this momentum into their next game as they travel to area rival Tuscaloosa County tomorrow, October 13th.
