Football Owns The Night Against Tuscaloosa County
Prattville High School's football team delivered a commanding performance against Tuscaloosa County on September 4, winning decisively with a final score of 62-0. This victory marks the Lions' third consecutive win, improving their record to 3-0 for the season. Under Coach Bobby Carr, the team showcased both offensive prowess and defensive strength throughout the game.
The Lions' offense was particularly effective, accumulating a total of 446 yards. Quarterback Will McKay completed 9 of 16 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns, all of which came in the first half. Connor Nair added to the passing game with 46 yards on 2 of 5 attempts. The receiving corps was led by CJ Brown, who caught five passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns, also all in the first half. Kolby King contributed with one reception for 23 yards and a touchdown, further enhancing the Lions' offensive output.
On the ground, Prattville's rushing attack was equally impressive, totaling 200 yards on 22 carries. Marterrius Sankey led the way with 73 yards and one touchdown on eight carries, while Graison Connor added 76 yards and two touchdowns on seven rushes. Jaiden Crenshaw rounded out the rushing effort with 18 yards and a touchdown on four carries, demonstrating the depth of talent within the Lions' backfield.
Defensively, the Lions were dominant, limiting Tuscaloosa County to zero points. Bryan Thomas made a significant impact with an interception returned for a touchdown, showcasing his playmaking ability. Datavius Caldwell recorded two tackles and a fumble recovery, contributing to the overall defensive effort. Tyler McIntyre caused a fumble and added two assists, while Jamichael Smith contributed with three tackles and two assists, solidifying the Lions' defensive performance.
Prattville converted 67% of their third-down attempts, going 2 for 3, and achieved a perfect 100% in the red zone, scoring on all six of their trips inside the 20-yard line.
